How We Use Cookies
Understanding Browser Cookies
Our Shopping Cart stores information
in a small text file called a "cookie" on your computer's hard
drive.
The Shopping Cart needs this information in order to associate your purchase
with you. Keep in mind that you don't have a live, constant connection
with the Shopping Cart. You only connect with it when you click on buttons
like Order or Send Order. The Shopping Cart then checks for any previously
stored cookie, and displays the updated information on your screen.
If you prevent your browser from accepting cookies, the shopping
cart will not work and you cannot place your order through our website.
Note, however, that it is not necessary to keep our shopping cart cookie
on your hard drive after your order is completed. You can always delete
the cookie after you complete the order.
We use cookies
in lieu of having you register prior to shopping.
Cookies contain information about you and your preferences. For
example, when you click to purchase an item, our shopping cart creates
a cookie that contains that item. When you view your order or check out,
the shopping cart retrieves the cookie to show the item and any others
items you ordered. When you complete your visit, some information, like
your e-mail address, is stored in a cookie, and will be retrieved by the
shopping cart the next time you click on buttons like Order or Send
Order and other buttons in the Shopping Cart.
Only the information that you provide, or the choices you make
while purchasing on our site, can be stored in a cookie. For example,
the site cannot determine your e-mail name unless you choose to type it.
Allowing our shopping cart to create a cookie does not give that or any
other site access to your computer, and only our shopping cart can read
its own cookie.
Cookies generally expire after a period of time, and
are afterwards disregarded by the Shopping Cart. You can
view cookies stored on your browser to find out their expiration dates,
if you're interested.
Browsers are initially
set up to allow the creation of cookies; however, you can usually specify
that you be prompted before our Shopping Cart, or any site, puts a cookie
on your hard drive, so you can choose to allow or disallow the cookie;
or you can prevent the browser from accepting any cookies.
For more information on your browser setup, security settings,
and how to delete your browsing history and cookies, click on the Help
button on your browser, or visit the cookie info links below.
