Information You'll Want To Know
Hammered Steel
Hot rolled steel is used in Enclume's proprietary process
to manufacture our signature "hammered steel." This handsome finish, with
its rich distressed patina, has a protective coating to keep maintenance to
a minimum.
Plated Finish
Enclume brass, copper and chrome finishes are applied to
cold-rolled steel using electroplating to achieve smooth hard surfaces and
crisp clean lines. The copper racks are plated with two layers of copper and
the brass and chrome racks are plated with a layer of copper and a layer of
nickel before the brass or chrome is applied. Plated steel is much stronger
and will hold much more weight than solid brass or solid copper.
Choice in Finishes
Enclume racks come in five finishes, but not all rack
designs are available in all of these finishes. The finishes are
hammered steel, stainless steel, copper plated, brass plated, and chrome
plated. Additional finishes are available for custom work.

Powder Coating
A plastic powder is applied as a thin film to the bare,
heated metal, which is then oven-baked. The result is a hard coating that is
not porous and chip resistant. The Essentials Pot Hooks have this coating.
Maintenance Factors with Particular Finishes
Chrome plated and stainless steel are considered low
maintenance along with hammered steel. Enclume copper and brass plated
finishes are not lacquered; over time they will develop a patina or can
remain bright with regular polishing using a non-abrasive cleaner. It is
very important that all trace of cleaner be removed, however, or the finish
will tarnish again immediately. Stainless steel can be maintained with
Scotch Brite, however, only rub the pad in one direction to avoid
unnecessary scratching. Maintenance guidelines are included with the
assembly instructions.

Hammered steel items typically are shipped within 7-10 business days.
Plated items - copper, brass, and chrome finishes - take 4-6 weeks to ship.
Stainless steel items ship within 4 weeks. Items are generally drop
shipped to the household who purchased them. Shipping times are from Port
Hadlock, WA, and are as follows:
1 day: Most of Western Washington
2 days: Eastern Washington, Oregon, Northern Idaho,
Western Montana, Northern California, Western Nevada
3 days: Southern Idaho, Southern California,

Note: This schedule may change between October and January, due to heavier
demand, and delivery times may be somewhat longer. We recommend that you
order early.
Delivery and Charges
Smaller carton shipments are shipped by common carrier, such as
UPS. All items on this page qualify for this category.
You will probably need to be present to sign a delivery receipt. The carrier
will make up multiple delivery attempts, and then will return the shipment
to us if they're unsuccessful. If the order is returned to us, you will be
subject to shipping charges for the return shipping to us, and for any
subsequent shipping you may request.
Upon delivery, if you notice any damage to the outside of the cartons, open
the cartons and inspect the items immediately, in the presence of the
delivery person. If you choose to accept delivery, your signature on the
delivery receipt is indicative that the shipment was received in good order.
If you notice damage which is unacceptable to you, refuse delivery and let
us know, please. It will be returned to us or to the factory for
replacement.
Heavy and bulky items are generally shipped by truck. In such
instances, we will advise you. You will then be contacted via phone by the
carrier, for an appointment to deliver. It is important to keep this
appointment and to have someone with you for assistance in carrying the
items from the truck and into your home.
It is also important to keep your appointment in order to avoid re-delivery
charges, which are not refundable and can amount from about $50 to over
$100. We promise to ship to you without shipping charge for the initial
delivery, but you will be subject to charges for re-delivery when you miss
your appointed delivery.
Upon delivery from a trucking company, if you notice any damage to the
outside of the cartons, open the cartons and inspect the furniture
immediately, in the presence of the truck delivery person. If you choose to
accept delivery, your signature on the delivery receipt is indicative that
the shipment was received in good order.
If you notice minor damage that is acceptable, or if the shipment is
incomplete, such as missing parts, you can accept delivery, but make sure
that notations of missing or damaged items are made on all copies of the
delivery receipt. Get a copy and contact us right away; we'll make the
necessary arrangements to replace any such items.
If you notice damage which is unacceptable to you, refuse delivery, and
please let us know. It will be returned to the factory for replacement.
When contacting us about your order, always remember to use your
Order Number, so that we can speedily identify your order and

Installation
Enclume racks must be installed securely following the instructions
included with each rack. Standard mounting hardware is included.
Low ceiling models are available as well as customizing chain and extension
hooks for high ceilings.
Many racks can be customized for specific applications. Please contact us
with your custom needs.
Overall height of Enclume racks measures from the ceiling to the bottom of
the pot hook, which extends 2.5" below the bottom edge of the rack.
Warranty
All of these cookware racks are warranted to be free of material defects
for a period of five years from the date of purchase. Customer's exclusive
remedy shall be the repair or replacement of the defective product and shall
be subject to the following conditions: (1) notice of any defect is received
by Enclume within the warranty period and (2) customer returns the defective
product to Enclume Design Products, Inc., 24 Colwell Street, Port Hadlock,
WA 98339, postage prepaid within 20 days following a return authorization
number (which may be obtained by telephoning (877) 362-5863). There is no
other warranty, express or implied.
THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE. ENCLUME SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL INCIDENTAL OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE PURCHASE OR USE OF ENCLUME'S
PRODUCTS.
