Korin 8A Stain Resistant Deba 7-Inch Fish and Butcher Knife

Out of stock
The Deba is often used in the Japanese fish markets and restaurants that work with whole fish, because it is designed to behead and fillet fish without damaging the flesh. For the best results, put pressure on the spine of the knife to put clean and precise cuts.

Although many use the deba on other meats, the deba is not intended for chopping of large diameter bones nor should it be used by slamming down the knife like a cleaver.

Korin's traditional Japanese 8A knives are made of 8A Austrian stain resistant steel and a magnolia wood handle with a water buffalo horn bolster. The 8A steel is a high quality steel with rust-resistant ideal for busy chefs. They are easier to maintain than carbon steel knives, and have a longer edge retention.

Originated in Kansai (Osaka) region of Japan.
